Did I mention???

Did I mention that this has become my life? Two science classes, algebra, and a science lab! Did I mention that the only thing that I am actually enjoying this semester is my piano class! This is what a typical week in my life has become. Monday and Wednesday, work from 9-10:30, piano 11-12:20, work 12:30-4. Class 5-6:20. Did I mention Mutual is on Wednesday from 7-8:30 (I love this, so it doesn't seem like work) Tuesday work 10-3, class from 4-5:20 and Thursday's schedule is pretty much the same as Tuesday, except that I have my lab from 6-9. Did I mention that I have a telecourse Math class too? Did I mention that I'm incredibly busy, and feeling a little overwhelmed, but I'm getting closer to my goal, and feel incredibly blessed that I the opportunity to go to school and get my education, and improve who I am.

Happy 3rd Birthday To My Sweet Nephew Zachary
My Dad, brother and Zachary. Three generations together.
He just wanted to blow out his candles. So ready for some cake!
I love how his tongue is sticking out as he is swinging at the pinata! One of my favorite pictures!
What a sweet boy he is, and a huge blessing to our family. I can't believe that he's three. How fast the time has gone!
Kyle's 8th grade graduation
I don't even know where to begin. I love this boy, or as he often reminds me, this teenager, more than life itself. He is amazing. I am so proud of him not only for his accomplishments, but for who he is. I can't believe that he is old enough to be in high school. The next four years will fly by, and soon he will be in college. It is crazy to think how the first 15 years of his life have flown by.
Kyle's name was called, and there was a whole lot of screaming from our section!
It rained that morning. It first started off with a sprinkle, then as the ceremony went on, the flood gates opened. Poor kids were soaked by the time it was all over.
So proud of this guy!
I wonder what's in store for him. Who he'll be when he grows up. I'm sure of three things though, I know that he'll be loving, compassionate and I know that he will know that he is loved.
Congratulations Kyle!

Yummy Homemade Peanut Butter Cups!
I love these! Here's the recipe:
2 cubes of butter
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups of graham crackers crushed
2 cups of powdered sugar
2 cups chocolate chips
Put peanut butter and butter in a bowl, and microwave for about a minute, and stir together.
Next, add the graham crackers and powdered sugar, and mix together.

I Voted!

I voted yesterday. I vote for several reasons. I feel like I have a voice, and if I don't use it, then I loose it. I vote because I am an American, and am very proud to live in this country. I love America, and am grateful for the opportunities that I am afforded because I am a citizen of this great country. I vote because I want to set a good example for my niece and my nephews. I want them to know that not only is it their duty as a citizen, but it is their right, and priviledge. I vote because I want to make a difference. I vote because it counts. I vote because we all should, and yet so many don't.

Russell M. Nelson

I had the wonderful opportunity to hear Russell M. Nelson speak yesterday. Not only did I get to hear him speak, but afterward I got to shake his hand. As I looked at him, I could feel the love that he has for me, and saw that love demonstrated again and again as he shook hands with others, and spoke to them. I was so inspired, and learned so much. I am grateful for living prophets, and the blessings that they bring. What a wonderful opportunity that we have to learn from them; to receive that direct communication from our Father in Heaven.

Shhh...It's a surprise!
We went to Vegas to to surprise Tiff for her birthday. We talked to Mike, and he kept it a secret. Val, Ali and I drove from California, and Carrie and Annette flew in from Utah. It was so hard to keep it a secret from her because every time one of us would be on Facebook, or talking to her, we would want to say something like, "see ya next week." Mike met us at a grocery store close to their house, and we followed him up to their house. We carried their groceries in, and Tiff was expecting Mike. I've never seen a better double take in my life!

Bryn's answers!
I had to write an observation paper for my Child Development class this last week. I interviewed Bryn, and I just had to share what she said:
Q: Why do you have a belly button?
A: "Because Heavenly Father loves me."
Q: Why are you ticklish?
A: "I'm not. Why do you like to eat candy?"
Q: Why is the grass green?
A: "Because Heavenly Father grew it."
Q: Why do the stars shine at night?
A: "Because it goes outside, and then we go outside to pray."
Q: Why do birds sing?
A: "Because they sing outside."
Q: How did you learn to talk?
A: "You didn't talk about it, because Heavenly Father loves you and the prize is for you."
Q: Why do you have freckles?
A: "I have freckles on my pants, and Heavenly Father eats grapes."
Q: Why do we have snow?
A: Because Heavenly Father goes in the snow, and it's cold in the snow. Heavenly Father created it.
This was one of the best assignments ever! I love that almost every answer has something to do with Heavenly Father. She knows who he is, even at almost 3. What a blessing she is!
Bryn's mishap!
I was at Val and Jerry's for dinner last Sunday night, and the kids were outside playing. All of the sudden we hear this loud cry. Jerry ran out, and Bryn had fallen on the concrete, and scrapped up her little face. I went back the other day, and I asked her how her face was, and she re-enacted it for me. It so reminded me of Aubrey when she was little, and she would re-enact every time she fell! You gotta love kids!
Another Year Younger!
I woke up on the morning of my birthday to this at my door! Ali had to be at work super early, and stopped by my house and left these beautiful flowers, a card, and brownies! What a great way to start out my birthday! Ali is always so thoughtful! That night I went out to dinner with a few friends. A good birthday, and I've decided that I'm not getting any younger, with each birthday I'm loosing a year. I'll stop when I'm good and ready! On a side note, everybody at work thought I was 26!
My friend JaNae surprised me with this Oreo bouquet on Wednesday night at mutual! She's so sweet, and I'm so glad that I get to serve with her in Young Womens!
I colored my hair! I'm still getting use to it. It's so much darker than I'm use to, but I think it warms up my skin tone. I really do like it!

A new hobby?
So I decided to try my hand at making a headband while I watched conference this afternoon. Sometimes it really helps me to be doing something else while I'm listening to something. It helps me to concentrate a bit better. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the way that it turned out, and want to make a couple more. Why is it that when you are the most busy, you decide to add another thing to make you even more busy?

Baby She's Got It!
I went to an 80's themed birthday party for Shannon Guadagnin on Saturday. It was so much fun! The food was excellent(thanks to Doug)and lots of good friends to hang out with. The music was so great, and the entertainment was superb. How often do you get to see Bananarama? Shannon, Delaney and Jenny were awesome. We even had the Cars show up!

Welcome to the family my lovelies!
OK, it's no secret that I LOVE shoes. From a fabulous pair of heels, to a super comfy pair of flip flops, I'm in love. So you can only imagine my surprise when I spotted these lovelies at Target tonight. They are my favorite kind, open toed sling backs, because I love to have my toes painted, and show them off! I had to have them, and we welcomed them to the family tonight. Both pairs are adjusting very nicely!

Faces of Alana
While we were at the park, we did a little impromptu photo shot of Alana. Such a fun and beautiful girl. It was a lot of fun to take these pictures. My favorite is the close-up of her laughing!
